Janet McIntyre wins CBWC management award

Janet McIntyre holds her management award after the awards celebration

Janet, Our Self-Employment Assistance Program Manager’s longstanding commitment to My Pathway, our programs and our people was recognised last Friday night when she was awarded the 2022 Cairns Businesswomen’s Club ‘Manager in Business’ award.

Since we learned that she reached the finalist stage some months ago, we have been on tenterhooks awaiting this announcement. Janet has been undertaking the management of the rollout of our new Self-Employment Assistance support offerings, including growing her team while participating in the rigorous assessments for the award judging.

This award acknowledges women in the public or private sector for their outstanding skills and contribution to their employer as a manager. My Pathway knows how good she is in her role and how deserving she is of this award, but Janet is still blown away.

“I still can’t believe I actually won, I was so far out of my comfort zone throughout the entire process, and to walk away the winner, just astounds me,” she said.

“I feel privileged to do the work I do and to help our participants, and to be recognised for that is a bit overwhelming.”

Janet was supported at the Gala awards ceremony by her family, who had come together to celebrate her birthday earlier that week.

“Having my entire family there to celebrate with me, just made the night so special and certainly a birthday celebration that I won’t forget in a hurry!” she said.

Janet’s family celebrated with her on the award night, making it extra special.

As an added bonus, the judges recognised Janet’s passion for management excellence, genuineness and authenticity and have asked her to be part of the judging panel for future awards.

My Pathway proudly congratulates Janet for winning this significant award.
